3. General Information on Data Processing
3.1 Scope of Processing of Personal Data
We generally only process personal data of our users insofar as this is necessary to provide a functional website as well as our content and services.
3.2 Legal Bases
The processing of personal data on this website is carried out on the basis of the following legal bases:
- Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. e DSGVO in conjunction with the Hessian School Act (HSchG): processing for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest (main legal basis for school-related data processing).
- Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. a DSGVO: where you have given your consent to the processing (e.g. publication of photographs).
- Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. f DSGVO: processing for the purposes of legitimate interests (e.g. ensuring IT security).
3.3 Data Deletion and Storage Duration
The personal data of the data subject will be deleted or blocked as soon as the purpose of storage ceases to apply. Storage may also take place if this has been provided for by the European or national legislator.
4. Provision of the Website and Creation of Log Files
4.1 Description and Scope of Data Processing
Each time our website is accessed, our system automatically collects data and information from the computer system of the accessing computer: information about the browser type and version used, the user’s operating system, the user’s IP address, the date and time of access, and websites from which the user’s system reaches our website.
4.2 Legal Basis
The legal basis for the temporary storage of the data and the log files is Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. e DSGVO in conjunction with § 3 HDSIG (processing for the performance of a public task).
4.3 Purpose of Data Processing
The temporary storage of the IP address by the system is necessary to enable delivery of the website to the user’s computer. Storage in log files takes place in order to ensure the functionality of the website and to guarantee the security of our information technology systems.
4.4 Duration of Storage
The data will be deleted as soon as it is no longer required for the purpose of its collection. In the case of storage of the data in log files, this is the case after seven days at the latest.
5. Use of Cookies
Our website uses exclusively technically necessary cookies (e.g. session cookies for the login area of the Testothek, form nonces). No cookies are used for tracking, analysis or advertising purposes. A cookie consent banner is therefore not required (§ 25 Abs. 2 TDDDG).
You can configure your browser so that you are informed about the setting of cookies and can decide individually on their acceptance.
6. Fonts (Hosted Locally)
This website uses the fonts “Outfit” and “Inter”. The fonts are hosted locally on our server. No connection is made to external servers (e.g. Google). Accordingly, no personal data is transmitted to third parties when the fonts are loaded.
7. Contact Form
A contact form is available on our website. When you use it, the following data is processed: your name, your email address and your message. This data is stored in the WordPress database on our server.
Legal basis: Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. e DSGVO (processing for the performance of a public task — communication with parents, teachers and interested parties).
Storage duration: Your enquiry will be deleted after processing has been completed, unless statutory retention obligations exist, but at the latest after 12 months.
Disclosure: The data is not passed on to third parties.
8. Testothek / Booking System (Commons Booking)
For the loan of test materials we use the plugin “Commons Booking”. Access to the Testothek is password-protected and intended only for authorised teachers.
Processed data: When a booking is made, your name, your email address and the booking details (item, period) are stored.
Legal basis: Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. e DSGVO (processing for the performance of a public task — administration of school resources).
Storage duration: Booking data will be deleted at the end of the school year in which the booking took place.
Disclosure: The data is not passed on to third parties and is processed exclusively on our server.
9. Events Calendar
To display school events we use the plugin “The Events Calendar”. The event data shown is publicly accessible and does not contain any personal data of website visitors. No registration or sign-up takes place via the website.
10. Photos and Media
Photos of school events, the school grounds and the teaching staff are published on our website.
Photos of pupils: The publication of photographs in which pupils are recognisably depicted is carried out exclusively with the prior written consent of their parents or legal guardians (Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. a DSGVO). Pupils aged 16 and over may give this consent themselves. Consent may be withdrawn at any time with effect for the future.
Photos of teachers and staff: Publication takes place as part of the school’s public relations work on the basis of Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. e DSGVO in conjunction with the HSchG. Upon leaving the school service, photographs will be removed on request.
11. Rights of Data Subjects
You have the following rights:
- Right of access (Art. 15 DSGVO): You may request information about the personal data we process concerning you.
- Right to rectification (Art. 16 DSGVO): You may request the rectification of inaccurate data.
- Right to erasure (Art. 17 DSGVO): You may request the deletion of your data, provided that no statutory retention obligations exist.
- Right to restriction of processing (Art. 18 DSGVO).
- Right to object (Art. 21 DSGVO): You have the right, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to object at any time to the processing of your data where the processing is based on Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. e DSGVO.
- Right to data portability (Art. 20 DSGVO), where applicable.
- Right to withdraw consent (Art. 7 Abs. 3 DSGVO): If you have given consent (e.g. for photographs), you may withdraw it at any time with effect for the future.
12. Right to Lodge a Complaint with the Supervisory Authority
If you consider that the processing of your personal data infringes data protection law, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority (Art. 77 DSGVO):
